Foster Parent Support Specialist

Full Job Description
Provide support, guidance, crisis response and leadership to the A/FC Department’s foster parents. The Foster Parent Advocate will act as a liaison between staff and foster parents. Additional responsibilities include contacting foster parents to set up initial and subsequent home visits, assess foster homes to identify needs for the youth in care, and provide support and training to foster parents.

Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred. HSD/GED required. Experience working with abused and neglected children, or experience working with foster parents preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be well organized, able to work independently, and able to make appropriate decisions and judgments as related to assessments, services and recommendations on child welfare cases. Must be willing to work evening hours as needed.

Starting Salary: $35,700

Experience
