The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
PrEP for Wings study seeks an individual who will be responsible for day-to-day management and implementation of the study, which aims to increase HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) initiation and adherence, reduce intimate partner violence, and hazardous alcohol use among women engaged in the criminal legal system in New York City (NYC). The Project Coordinator II will be based in the Sociomedical Sciences Department at the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health (MSPH), and will be an integral member of the research team. The Project Coordinator II will be responsible for managing and implementing the PrEP for WINGS study, and will lead the research study implementation while also working closely with community organizations to facilitate the implementation of study activities. In this role, the Project Coordinator II will coordinate communication and study activities across investigators at Columbia University, additional academic organizations, and community partners at non-profit organizations serving people engaged in the criminal legal system in NYC. The Project Coordinator II will also manage a team of research staff who will support data collection and analysis activities.
Responsibilities
Manage communications, activities, and collaboration on behalf of the PrEP for WINGS study between the Principal Investigators at Columbia University, larger investigative team, study recruitment and intervention sites, and various collaborating organizations throughout NYC. This includes scheduling meetings, sending agendas ahead of meetings, taking notes, summarizing meetings, providing study updates by email. (30%)
Oversee collection of all sources of study data. Supervise research assistants who will collect data, and otherwise support study activities. (25%)
Program and maintain electronic data collection system and database (using Qualtrics system) (15%)
Manage the distribution of incentives provided to study participants. Coordinate with MSPH’s finance administration team to facilitate the procurement of appropriate incentive methods (e.g., gift cards, petty cash) and manage the tracking of incentive distribution to study participants. (10%)
Develop study materials for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and work closely with the Principal Investigators to manage IRB correspondence. (5%)
Prepare materials for Principal Investigators needed to prepare progress reports to funders. (5%)
Prepare and give presentations to community partners, scientific communities, etc. (5%)
Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested (5%)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience in research.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in public health, social work, or another social science field.
Research experience in sexual and reproductive health within an academic setting.
Direct work experience with State community-based health and social service providers.
