Full Job Description
Under the direction of the chief technologist or his/her designee, performs radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgments, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis.
Please note: In the event of an emergency, vacation and/or staffing shortage, this role will cover all orthopedic locations (Map 6, Wakefield, Tarrytown, White Plains etc. ) as needed. This role also supports multiple providers and will be expected to work on Saturday and work later shifts as needed. Hours/Shift/Schedules are subject to change.
Responsibilities
Entering patient data into RIS and other appropriate computer systems
Obtain radiographic images (proper setting of exposure factors and proper positioning of the patient)
Ensure assigned room is properly equipped, and move patient into x-ray room either on stretcher, wheelchair, or ambulating
Correct labeling of all radiographic images
Maintain necessary records of films, fluoro time, etc
Assist physician in the administration of contrast material
Perform other related assigned tasks as necessary
Qualifications/Skills
High school diploma/ GED Required
Satisfactory completion of a formal two year radiologic technology training program
Licensed by the State of New York
