Full Job Description
Our schools will be operating in-person for all staff and students for the current school year. Our schools are co-located in DOE buildings and will be following NYC protocols, which include mandated vaccinations. Our protocols will be updated as necessary based on changes in NYC protocols or additional CDC directives.

The Operations Assistant role is a key member of the operations team at New Visions Charter High Schools. The Operations Specialist I is responsible for keeping the school organized and efficient while maintaining a professional and friendly environment for parents, students, and staff.
This is a part time position of up to 25 hours per week.
Essential Job Functions

Operations/Administrative Responsibilities

Assist with lunch duty, hallway duties, classroom transitions, and dismissal; Monitor halls, cafeteria, bathroom access, locker room access and other such spaces as needed
Administrative tasks, including but not limited to: filing, making copies, setting up for meetings, receiving, inventorying, distributing mail and distributing supplies.
Assist with classroom and office set ups.
Assist with events set up and break down.
Assist with the preparation of bulletin boardproject materials.
Assist with student transitions – Entry, bell changes, cafeteria and dismissal
Serve as the school staffing liaison to support all hiring-related activities in coordination with the Principal, Director of School Operations, Business Partner and Talent Acquisition Team or other personnel designated by the Principal.
Secondary Job Functions:

Support with school events, including fire drills, scanning, sports, events and emergencies
Additional responsibilities as needed consistent with the general nature of the position
Tech Support

Support Technology Specialist with daily loaners for laptops and chargers. Assisting with tracking and maintaining the logs and/or trackers.
Point-of-contact for troubleshooting technology issues, accurately logging all support activities, and resolving or escalating where necessary in a timely manner;
Support school events, including Audio/Visual setups
Coordinate with the Technology Specialist to ensure adequate coverage and tech support
Ensure timely communication is provided to key staff on issue statuses
Assist with maintaining an up-to-date inventory of technology assets, including licenses, and assist with regular audits to ensure accuracy and reflect assignment to or collection from individuals, devices or physical spaces
Distribute technology to staff and students, including laptop carts and other classroom technology, and accurately and effectively track according to established guidelines
Follow standard technology processes such as technology requests and check in and check out processes
Assist with monitoring efficiency and functioning of all copy machines and printers and coordinate with vendors for repair and maintenance
Required Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to perform general office management tasks including, but not limited to, maintaining inventory records, etc.
Employ professional demeanor and communications (email, phone, and mail) while performing duties Effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Google Suite,, Microsoft Office Suite, PowerSchool, and other school information systems.
Ability to manage multiple work streams that require project management, collaboration with others, and dealing with uncertainty.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred
At least 1.5 year experience working in a school or youth development environment
