POSITION:
The NYC Department of Education Career and Technical Education team in the Office of Postsecondary Readiness in the Division of Teaching and Learning, under the Division/Office of the Chief Academic Officer, is seeking to fill, up to 25, TEACHER positions for its Academic Integration Educator Team

 

LOCATION:
Various Locations throughout NYC 5 boroughs and Remote

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Currently Licensed and appointed NYCDOE TEACHER

Minimum of 1 years full-time classroom teaching experience in Career and Technical Education and/or schools with CTE programs. Teachers must be currently assigned to NYSED approved CTE program eligible for Perkins V FY 22 funding

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Preference will be given to:

Teachers with satisfactory ratings in the prior 2 consecutive years within the NYCDOE
Teachers with capacity to design and implement integrated lessons and units
Knowledge of academic integration, project-based learning, and/or Understanding by Design (backward design)

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a member of school Educator Team to design and implement integrated lessons and units that increase student engagement and instruction
Attend summer training sessions on backward design planning, project based learning and mapping in Rubicon Atlas
Actively participate in Educator Team planning and coaching sessions (AI Coaching Corners)
Ongoing unit mapping documentation for academic integration requirements into Rubicon Atlas curriculum design system
Participate in focus group and data collection efforts on program effectiveness and student outcome measures

 

WORK SCHEDULE:
Sept 15, 2021 – June 30, 2022. Teachers will work between 5-10 hours, depending on funding availability and program needs.

 

HOURS UP TO, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF HOURS LISTED. ADDITIONAL HOURS GRANTED UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE HIRING MANAGER.

 

SALARY:
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT – Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
