POSITION DETAILS

The SUNY Bronx Educational Opportunity Center (Bronx EOC) is one of 10 Educational Opportunity Centers and 2 Outreach Centers that provide academic and workforce development training for adult learners. The Center serves over 1000 students. In addition, the Bronx EOC offers a broad range of workforce development programs in allied health and service industry programs along with college awareness and high school diploma. Liaise with hospital and nursing homes to create and improve outreach for clinical and internship participants.

The Center’s faculty, administration, and staff are committed to educational excellence as they instill in students an enduring love of learning and respect for pluralism and diversity.

Reporting to the Director of Student Affairs, the Outreach Coordinator will assist with strategizing and implementing recruitment and program outreach efforts. In addition, s/he will work closely with the Department of Enrollment Management and Records, Admissions, ED’s Office, Information Technology, and other campus units on student recruitment and outreach.

The EOC Outreach Coordinator will also manage the program’s presence on social media platforms. In addition, the Outreach Coordinator will actively collaborate with other campus units and partners, such as other SUNY EOCs, SUNY for all, CUNY, political and district leaders, healthcare institutions, workforce one, on early outreach initiatives.

The Outreach Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for clinical and internship for site agreements, and our justice involved partner organization to support returning citizen. Collect, input and monitor outreach information in Center’s databases, and coordinate the college and job fair at the Center. Work with our partners at the Legal Aid Society to support students with work related legal challenges. Experience with healthcare institutions, workforce development, and customer service. As well as:

Liaise with hospital and nursing homes to create and improve outreach for clinical and internship participants
Conduct information sessions at community and online events and collects intake information for student and community partners.
Assist in direct recruiting at high schools, community outreach events, and other appropriate locations
Print flyers, support the development of flyers information materials, outreach workshop materials, and advertisement and promotional materials in addition to providing information about the EOC program and its services in person or by telephone, email, or letter.
Performs related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social sciences, criminology, communications, marketing or similar discipline.
Experience working with underserved communities and adult education populations. (Healthcare programs)
Experience working with health care institutions to deliver workforce development training
Experience working with databases, word, excel, and student information systems preferred.
Ability to communicate program requirements effectively to students, as well as to easily build rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and faculty and community partners.
Knowledge of the justice involved population.
Experience in outreach, workshop presentation in an education and healthcare setting.
Bilingual, Spanish and English preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$68,245 – $70,541
