Physical Therapy Assistant – PTA

St. Patrick’s Home is a Faith-Based facility located in the northwest section of the Bronx, bordering scenic Van Cortlandt Park. Sharing in the Ministry of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm since 1931, the dedicated staff provides Long and Short-term Care to the elderly, meeting the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the residents as a part of the St. Patrick’s family, where “The Difference is Love.”

We are looking for a Physical Therapy Assistant – PTA – Part-Time.

** This is a Full-Time position **

Physical Therapy Assistant – PTA Job Summary:

Prepares and provides treatments and activities for residents under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT).
Assists with data collection and evaluation under the supervision of the PT.
Completes required documentation, develops treatment goals, and coordinates treatment plans under the supervision of the PT.
Responds to requests made by nursing and other related disciplines in order to assure appropriate resident care (provision of equipment, positioning, etc.).
Adapts intervention environment, tools, materials, and activities accordingly.
Communicates and interacts with team members and the resident’s family or caregivers.
Maintains equipment area, equipment, and supply inventory as required.
Records attendance and helps maintain monthly statistics.
Assists in In-Service Education Program as requested.
Performs other related tasks as directed by Director of Rehab or Supervising PT.

Physical Therapy Assistant – PTA Qualifications:

New York Physical Therapy Assistant Certification required.
Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from accredited program.
Proof of COVID19 Vaccination Required.
One year of Long-Term Care experience preferred.
Knowledge of wheelchairs and Casamba EMR software a plus!
